Assistant Township Assessor
Niles Township

The Assistant Township Assessor will assists Township taxpayers in preparing appeals, filing homestead exemptions, senior citizen exemptions, senior citizen assessed value freezes, and certificates of error.

Responsibilities Included:

  • Data management and entry.
  • Maintain accurate assessor records.
  • Process municipal building permits.
  • May involve additional administrative duties.
  • Public contact and service.
  • Represent Assessor’s office and Township in a proficient, professional manner.
  • Project appropriate demeanor and an enthusuastic, sincere, interest in the taxpayer, the Township, and the Cook County property tax system.


Taxpayer assistance experience is not necessary but good working knowledge and experience operating office equipment, copier, scanner, printer, computers, Microsoft Word and Excel is required.

Must be willing, competent and able to learn the property tax system.

Strong preference for Niles Township residency. Open until filled.
