Updated Face Mask Requirements

June 01, 2021

After careful consideration of new face mask guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Illinois Department of Public Health (IPDH), and various stakeholders within the Illinois property assessment community, the Illinois Property Assessment Institute is updating our face mask requirements.

Beginning June 1, students who are fully vaccinated are no longer required to wear face masks while in attendance at IPAI trainings and events. Non-vaccinated students (or those who are not yet fully vaccinated) are expected to continue wearing face masks for your own protection and the protection of other students.

Please note some facilities used by the IPAI, or local jurisdictions, have more stringent face mask requirements than those put forth by the CDC and IDPH. The IPAI is contractually obligated to follow those requirements, so students should always bring a face mask in case one is needed.

Important notes:

  • IPAI staff has been fully vaccinated but will continue to wear face masks during registration and other times of peak interaction.
  • In the classroom students will continue to be seated socially distanced from each other.
  • Food at breaks will continue to be individually packaged or wrapped (no open trays of cookies).
  • Students are encouraged to continue wearing face masks to meet their individual comfort or health needs.

The IPAI will continue to monitor the situation throughout 2021 and will make updates to this policy based on recommendations and requirements set forth by the CDC and IDPH. Students with questions should contact IPAI Executive Director Josh Barnett.
