Non-Designation Seeking Students

Would you like to take courses but are not interested in pursuing your CIAO? We can do that!

The IPAI is pleased to offer a wide variety of relevant and diverse courses for property assessment professionals. Non-designation seeking students include:

• Board of Review members
• Assessment office support staff
• Attorneys specializing in property tax
• State of Illinois employees
• School district administrative staff
• Corporate legal and tax staff

To take courses without obtaining a CIAO, do two things:

1. Request an account in the IPAI Student Portal (see below)
2. Send a note to IPAI and let us know you only want to take courses and are not pursuing the CIAO designation

Get a Student Portal Account

The IPAI Student Portal is where you register and pay for courses and track your progress to become a CIAO. After you obtain your designation, the Student Portal is where you will register for continuing education (CE) courses and track your required CE hours.

To create a profile, click the blue “Student Portal Login” button in the upper right of the website. Once the Student Portal loads, click the “Register Now” box. Your new profile will go into a queue for approval. In most cases, new profiles are approved within 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays).
