Lee Receives 2024 Marshall Theroux Award

Jeffrey Lee, Lake Villa Township Assessor in Lake County, was recently awarded the 2024 Marshall Theroux Memorial Award in recognition of his long career in property assessment, contributions to the industry, and dedication to community service. Lee received the award at the Illinois Property Assessment Institute’s 66th Annual State Conference held at the Marriott Hotel in Normal, Illinois. The Theroux Award is the highest honor bestowed on a member of the Illinois property assessment industry.

Nominees for the annual Marshall Theroux Memorial Award are submitted from around Illinois. The winner is determined by the Board of Directors of the Illinois Property Assessment Institute. Lee was nominated for the award by more than a dozen colleagues from throughout the state.

Lee has over 40 years of experience in property assessment. He holds the CIAO-Specialist advanced designation from the Illinois Property Assessment Institute. Lee has served as Lake Villa Township Assessor since 2005. Previously he was the Commercial Deputy Assessor for Warren Township. Lee also serves as an instructor and course developer for the Institute. He currently serves as president of the Lake County Township Assessors Association and is actively involved in his local community through Lions Club and various non-profit organizations.

He finds a way to unite others through a shared goal and purpose.” said Chesney Leafblad, Warren Township Chief Deputy Assessor in Lake County. Antioch Township Assessor Lee Perry noted “Jeff is a positive influence on all parties he encounters and is always seeking higher knowledge and professionalism in our trade.”
