Christopher Kain Recognized for Leadership in Illinois Township Government

April 03, 2025

Addison Township Assessor Christopher Kain was honored at the Illinois Property Assessment Institute’s recent State Conference in Normal. The IPAI Board of Directors presented Kain with a Resolution of Congratulations for his recent service as president of the TOI Board of Directors.

“One of the great things about this career is the relationships you build with other assessors. Sometimes the people you meet become more than colleagues, they become friends,” said Bloomingdale Township Assessor John Dabrowski in presenting Kain with the resolution. Dabrowski also serves as vice chairman of the IPAI Board. He continued, “The TOI Board is made up of various township officials from across the state including supervisors, trustees, highway commissioners, clerks, and assessors. The fact that one of our own was chair this past year is a big deal.”

Kain was first elected Addison Township Assessor in 2005 and was just reelected to a sixth term. The resolution noted that Kain’s contributions of time and leadership to TOI, IAA, IPAI, and numerous other organizations should be uplifted, recognized, and celebrated as inspirational examples of excellence in public service and devotion to the assessment profession and township government.

In accepting the honor, Kain said “Thank you for the recognition, but I am simply one of all of us that takes a path on probably the least popular job in township government, but we do it well, we do it right.” He continued addressing his fellow assessors in the room, “I have to say, you all make the difference, you are the future, and we are always here to help. Thank you again for this resolution.”
