Derek Devers, Moline Township Assessor, was recently awarded the 2025 Outstanding Achievement in Property Assessment Award in recognition of his long career in property assessment, contributions to the industry, and dedication to the people of his township. Devers received the award at the Illinois Property Assessment Institute’s 67th Annual State Conference held in Normal, Illinois.

Nominees for the annual Outstanding Achievement in Property Assessment Award are submitted from around Illinois. The winner is determined by the Board of Directors of the Illinois Property Assessment Institute. Devers was nominated for the award by several colleagues from throughout the Quad Cities area.

Devers has worked in property assessment for 12 years and has served as Moline Township Assessor since 2020. He previously served as deputy assessor in Hampton Township. Devers holds the Certified Illinois Assessing Officer designation from the Illinois Property Assessment Institute. His public service extends beyond the township office as Devers also volunteers with numerous community organizations including the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley.

In Dever’s nomination, Rock Island County Supervisor of Assessments Amy Allman noted “Derek is a highly motivated leader, and his passion for his work is infectious, inspiring those around him. His commitment to taxpayer education is evident in his accessibility and patience. He dedicates whatever time is necessary to ensure each person fully understands the information.” Rock Island County Board of Review Chairperson Diane Overstreet-Tyler agreed, saying “Derek is a helper of people. When taxpayers reach out to him with questions, he invites them to come in, sit down and go over their concerns. He is a giving person who continually tries to make the world a better place.”
