Timothy Jorczak, McLean County Supervisor of Assessments, was recently awarded the 2026 Marshall Theroux Memorial Award, the highest honor bestowed on a member of the Illinois property assessment industry, in recognition of his long career in property assessment, contributions to the industry, and dedication to community service. He was also recognized with the Outstanding Achievement in Property Assessment Award, highlighting his excellence in accuracy, innovation, collaboration, and professional integrity. Jorczak received both awards at the Illinois Property Assessment Institute’s 68th Annual State Conference held in Normal, Illinois.
Nominees for the annual awards are submitted from around Illinois. The winners are determined by the Board of Directors of the Illinois Property Assessment Institute. Jorczak was nominated by numerous colleagues.
Jorczak has over 16 years of experience in property assessment. He holds the Certified Illinois Assessing Officer professional designation from the Illinois Property Assessment Institute as well as professional designations from the International Association of Assessing Officers. Jorczak was appointed McLean County Supervisor of Assessments in 2021 and reappointed for a new four-year term in 2025. Prior to that he was the Senior Commercial Appraiser at the City of Bloomington Township Assessor’s Office. He serves on boards and committees for numerous statewide organizations and is an instructor for the Institute.
In a letter supporting Jorczak’s nomination, McLean County Administrator Cassy Taylor said “Since joining our team four years ago, Tim has demonstrated exceptional leadership, expertise, and dedication. His tenure has ushered in a new era for the assessment office marked by transparency, engagement, and commitment to public service.” Lake Villa Township Assessor Jeff Lee agreed noting “Tim’s knowledge of appraisal and assessment principles is unparalleled. His ability to share this expertise with other assessment professionals is truly commendable. He makes complex appraisal issues both understandable and relatable.”
