Gary Twist, CIAO-S, began serving the Illinois Property Assessment Institute as a Board member, in February, 2018. Gary represents the County Assessment Officers Association of the State of Illinois, where he is a member of the Executive Board. He is also Chairman of Area II of that organization which represents 22 counties of Central/West-Central Illinois.
He is currently the Chief County Assessment Officer of Tazewell County where he has served since 2008. Prior to his tenure at Tazewell County, Gary served as Appraiser/Analyst and then Chief Deputy of Champaign County from 1999 through 2007.
Gary is a leader in technological advancements to the Assessment industry, and a mentor to Township and County Assessment Officials across the state.
His hobbies include musical composition and choral conducting.
