2021 Spring Conference News

December 21, 2020

Dear Assessment Professionals,

2020 has been a year… While trying to stay afloat with all the changes to our everyday life due to COVID-19, here at the IPAI we’ve also had to still think forward to next year. And the need to provide the assessment community with timely, relevant learning opportunities is greater than ever.

To address this, we are excited to announce a brand-new format for our 2021 Spring Conference, which will take place March 21-26!

Monday and Tuesday will now feature different sessions that attendees can pick and choose based on their interests. These will be 90-minute sessions on a variety of topics throughout the two days, including seminar presentations, panel discussions, case studies, and potentially vendor demonstrations.

We also plan to offer the Sunday Plenary Session again in 2021.  For those concerned about earning 15 credit hours, attending the Sunday Plenary Session and sessions on Monday and Tuesday will add up to 15 hours of seminar credit.

Wednesday and Thursday will be the more traditional 2-day class format, allowing attendees to still take a deep dive into a course topic (with testing on Friday.)

To put together the best conference schedule, we have assembled a Conference Programming Committee to brainstorm session topics and recruit speakers. The committee members are:

  • Mark Armstrong
  • Dale Butalla
  • Tim Jorczak
  • Chesney Leafblad
  • Vicki Sheets

Our call for presentation proposals is now open, so if you have a unique perspective or expertise you would like to share with the Illinois assessment community, we invite you to apply to speak.

Sincerely,

Amanda Padgitt
Learning Program Manager
