Luke Wiesbrock Earns CIAO-I

October 15, 2019

Luke Wiesbrock, Residential Deputy Assessor for Milton Township (DuPage County), has recently earned the Certified Illinois Assessing Officer-Intermediate (CIAO-I) advanced designation from the IPAI!

Wiesbrock has been involved in property assessment for 16 years. He started in 2003 working part-time for the Bristol Township Assessor’s Office doing field work during summers while he was home from college. Upon graduating in 2007 with a degree in History from Western Illinois University, Wiesbrock was hired full-time. He received his CIAO designation in 2009 and was appointed Deputy Assessor shortly after. In 2014, Wiesbrock became the Residential Deputy Assessor for the Milton Township Assessor. In that role, he is responsible for the field work as well as mass assessing residential properties.

To obtain the Illinois Property Assessment Institute’s CIAO-I designation, an individual must first hold the CIAO designation, then take at least 120 hours of continuing education, serve at least three years in the assessment office, and pass an exam. Only 4% of the CIAOs hold the advanced CIAO-I designation.

Wiesbrock is a member of International Association of Assessing Officers and is currently pursuing his RES and CAE designations through the IAAO. He lives in Geneva, IL with his wife Meghan, and daughter Evelyn. They have a baby due in March.
