Larry A. Wilson, Supervisor of Assessments for Rock Island County, was recently awarded the 2022 Large Jurisdiction Outstanding Achievement in Property Assessment Award in recognition of his long career in property assessment, contributions to the industry, and dedication to the people of his county. Wilson received the award at the Illinois Property Assessment Institute’s 64th Annual State Conference held at the Marriott Hotel in Normal, Illinois.

Nominees for the annual Outstanding Achievement in Property Assessment Award are submitted from around Illinois. The winner is determined by the Board of Directors of the Illinois Property Assessment Institute. Wilson was nominated for the award by a several colleagues from throughout Illinois.

Wilson has over 24 years of experience in property assessment. He holds the CIAO-Intermediate designation from the Illinois Property Assessment Institute (an advanced designation available to someone in the Illinois property assessment industry). He has served as an officer and on numerous state-wide committees for organizations affiliated with property assessment. He is a past member of the Board of Directors and past Education Committee chair for the Institute.

“For more than 20 years Larry has demonstrated an “above and beyond” commitment to the assessment profession by his active participation in numerous leadership roles,” said Lee County Administrator Wendy Ryerson in nominating him. “He has approached each leadership role with the highest ethical standards, professionalism, a genuine commitment of time and energy, and a sincere dedication to advancing the assessment profession. His compassion and kindness towards others is one of his greatest strengths, and is a valuable source of inspiration to myself and others that have had the pleasure of working with him.”
