TITLE:                          Deputy Assessor

STATUS:                       Full Time, Exempt

DEPARTMENT:             Assessor’s Office

REPORTS TO:               Assessor


Responsible for assisting the Township Assessor in the overall direction and management of Township’s property appraisal program. The Deputy Assessor will assist with the identifying, inventorying, managing of data and determining market value and calculating the assessed valuation of the Township properties in accordance with the State regulations, methods and procedures to ensure fair and equitable assessments.


  • None


  • Calculates the market value of various types of properties including new construction, renovations, and additions, by reviewing comparable properties and the local real estate market.
  • Gathers data on assessed properties by conducting physical inspections and taking photographs.
  • Reviews building plans and other related construction documents.
  • Assists taxpayers with questions concerning valuation of the properties.
  • Manages data and prepares reports.
  • Maintains records, updating to reflect renovation and updates property data in the computer.
  • Use of personal vehicle for field work with mileage reimbursed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
